Thirty Something

Happy Birthday Jeff!

So, Jeff turned 30 this weekend. A little crazy to think the past 7 years have gone by so fast since we were married. We decided 30 is good- people finally think of you as an adult. All the good looking people I know are 30 something and you really are more in the prime of your life. You are starting to figure things out and can now look forward to all of the fun and exciting times ahead with thefamily. So 30 is good!!

We celebrated with a backyard BBQ with friends on Saturday! It was a lot of fun. The weather in Flagstaff was as perfect as it gets. I'm so excited for summer. I would have a BBQ every weekend if I could manage. It's just a great excuse to hang out and enjoy your friends.

Here are few of our pics.

Naomi, of course stayed with the neighbors horse the entire time. She loves horses! Good thing aunt Michelle is close by.

Relay for Life

Friday night we went to the NAU dome to support Jeff's brother, Scott, in the Relay for Life. It's a really neat event that the American Cancer Society puts on every year. Each team must have a walker at all times on the track- they walk all night to support cancer research efforts and to remind people that cancer never sleeps.

Scott had brain cancer as a child, and is a cancer survivor. It was very touching to watch as the "survivor" team start the the night with their victory lap.

Silly Naomi

We like to email pictures to Jeff during his work day to keep him laughing. This is Naomi's silly picture one day.

Joshua Tree

We took a weekend to check out Joshua Tree- It was really cool! My brother Garrett and his wife went with us and we camped and climbed. It was a little cold the weekend we went, but I would love to go back.

Jeff Climbing. We were able to try out our trad gear. Not much stuff is bolted. I might be a good climber, if I wasn't so afraid of heights. Jeff loves it and the height thing doesn't seem to bother him.

Grandma Hume

My grandma is having her 80th birthday party in May. She lives in Chelsea, Michigan. My mom and I are in charge of making the invitations. This is the picture we are going to try and use somehow. This is Dorothy Daum in 1929. To me, she looks just like my Aunt Amy (my mom's sister).

Naomi

Here are a few pictures of Naomi I took today. I think it gets kind of old- always seeing pictures of her, but I guess what else do I take pictures. It's just the two of us most days- which I love. Eventhough she is only 3 we often act like we are best friends. She is really aware of my feelings. I think it is partly her age, but I hope I'm developing a relationship for the future- when I know I won't think she is so cute and adorable.
As I look at these photos- I realize she looks kind of sad. I guess it was just the moment- sometimes these are expressions that I don't normally see and somehow create good images.
